Sustainable pigs
A key focus was to reduce the farm’s carbon footprint and produce pork as sustainably as possible. To offset much of the carbon produced on the farm, we have a Christmas tree plantation and have planted 40 acres of Miscanthus, a tall elephant grass like biofuel crop which captures 11 tons of carbon per acre per year.
The Bruntonna farm is an absolute haven for wildlife. Specially planted wildflower margins help feed important pollinating insects such as the bees from the eight beehives on the farm and the extensive planting of trees and hedges have benefitted a wide range of wildlife species.
We are incredibly proud of our Bruntonna pigs that we produce and have made it our mission to provide a premium product in the most natural and sustainable way possible.
