Bruntonna
What makes our Bruntonna herd so special is that they are 100% free range
The name Bruntonna
Pig farming in Norfolk has continued for decades for which it is now a renowned area in the UK. The light, sandy, free draining soil makes free range pig farming well suited to the fields of East Anglia.
Deep in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside down the narrow, winding lanes you will discover our herd of Bruntonna pigs. The name ‘Bruntonna’ comes from the old English name of the small, quaint village where our pigs are born and reared.
Bruntonna pigs are 100% free range and are produced in a natural and sustainable way to create superb tasting quality pork, appreciated by butchers and restaurants across the UK.

The history behind the pigs
The Bruntonna herd is owned and manged by Adam Brewer. Adam’s family moved to the farm in 1967, the year Adam was born. Adam’s father specialised in growing potatoes and arable production for some 60 years. With his father’s retirement looming, Adam had a choice to make. Having worked in television for 35 years, travelling the globe covering international sporting events Adam felt the time was right to return to the North Norfolk farm and take up the mantle.

The family had historically raised pigs as far back as the 50s so when the opportunity to raise Suffolk Reds was presented it seemed fortuitous. Having explored many avenues, Adam followed up on an article in 2020 in Pig World announcing the Suffolk Red as a recognised pedigree breed and highlighting Dingly Dell’s desire to prove the success of the genetics on a separate unit.
The pig fitted the requirements as a hardy outdoor breed with excellent meat quality traits especially high levels of intermuscular fat.
It was from that Bruntonna Free Range was born.
