The importance of happy pigs
Every care is taken to ensure that Bruntonna pigs are happy and healthy from birth through to the end of their lives. The pigs wander freely in their extensive paddocks, allowing them to rootle, forage, mud- bath and generally do what pigs do best. In the wind and rain the pigs cosy up in their airy, straw filled sheds to escape the North Norfolk elements.

When the pigs are finally finished, Adam insists on transporting the pigs himself, in his own lorry, which he considered to be vital to the welfare of the pigs. They only have a very short 18 mile journey from the farm to the RSPCA assured abattoir; reducing transport time which is so vital for the welfare of our pigs.

The unhurried development of Bruntonna pork ensures a delicious texture and rich depth of flavour. As the pork cooks, it retains its moisture as the marbling melts away to produce juicy and tender meat, surrounded by crunchy golden crackling. We strongly believe that happy pigs
produce premium quality pork.
The secret to premium quality pork
We believe that part of the key to producing premium quality pork is the natural and stress-free environment in which our pigs live. Unlike commercially produced pigs, Bruntonna grow at their own pace, taking more time to reach their optimum finishing weights. Maturation at a slower growth rate allows the pork to develop an enhanced level of fat coverage and marbling in the eye of the meat.
